A reed diffuser quotation should not be based only on one number. A 200-piece order can be discussed for selected stock bottle routes, simple fragrance selection, basic label work or early private label planning, depending on available components. Projects involving custom logo printing, custom bottle development, custom box printing, gold finishing or several fragrance directions still need the details confirmed before final pricing.

When buyers contact us, we usually confirm fragrance direction, bottle size, packaging level and launch plan before giving a serious quotation. This avoids a common problem: a fast price that later changes after the real details appear.

1. Fragrance is not only a scent name

For a private label diffuser, “rose”, “oud” or “white tea” is only the starting point. The same scent name can feel light, sweet, powdery, woody, clean or heavy depending on the fragrance compound and the product format.

A clearer fragrance brief includes:

  • target market and retail channel;
  • whether the scent should feel fresh, warm, sweet, woody, floral or hotel-style;
  • the product size and expected fragrance intensity;
  • number of fragrances planned for the first order;
  • any reference product or scent direction the buyer wants to compare.

For Middle East and North Africa buyers, warm and layered directions such as oud, amber, musk, rose, sandalwood, incense, vanilla and woody blends are often discussed. For European-style collections, buyers may prefer cleaner tea, fig, bergamot, cedarwood, freesia, soft musk or floral woody directions. The final choice still needs sampling.

2. MOQ depends on what is being customized

Many buyers ask: “What is your minimum order?” The honest answer is: it depends on the route.

Typical planning routes:
  • Stock bottle + simple label: usually easier for a smaller trial order.
  • Existing bottle + custom box: packaging may create a separate MOQ.
  • Custom logo, cap, bottle color or printing: component details must be confirmed before pricing.
  • Fully custom bottle or gift set: mold, box structure and component route should be checked before pricing.

The MOQ may apply to the total order, each fragrance, each bottle color or each packaging design. Buyers should ask which part the MOQ applies to before comparing prices.

A lower MOQ is useful only when the product route still fits the brand. For a premium launch, packaging and fragrance details should not be ignored just to force a number down.

3. Price is calculated after the main details are clear

For reed diffusers, price is usually affected by bottle capacity, glass style, cap or collar, diffuser base, fragrance, reeds, label, box, printing finish, quantity and destination country.

If a buyer only sends “200 pieces reed diffuser, please quote”, the supplier can only give a rough range. We prefer to confirm the main details first, then calculate a quotation that matches the actual product route, instead of giving a low price first and changing it later. A more dependable quote needs:

  • bottle size: 50ml, 100ml, 150ml, 200ml or another capacity;
  • bottle route: stock bottle or custom bottle;
  • fragrance direction and number of scents;
  • label and box requirements;
  • printing finish such as gold foil, metallic label or plain label;
  • shipping destination or China agent arrangement;
  • sample deadline and expected launch timing.

4. Stock bottle and custom packaging are not the same project

A stock bottle can help a buyer move faster. It is often suitable for early brand testing, a market trial or a small pilot order. But when a buyer needs a custom box, gold logo, special cap, custom bottle color or a full gift set, the discussion changes.

The cost and MOQ may shift because printing, packaging and components each have their own production logic. That is why we separate bottle, fragrance, label, box and shipment details before confirming the final route.

5. What to prepare before asking for a quotation

To move faster, send a short but specific brief:

  • product type: reed diffuser, candle, room spray or gift set;
  • target quantity and number of fragrances;
  • bottle size or reference image;
  • fragrance direction and target market;
  • whether you need your own logo, label and box;
  • preferred packaging level: simple retail box, gift box or premium set;
  • shipping destination or China agent information.

If some details are not decided yet, say so. A clear “not decided yet” is better than guessing.
